Example: ITD File Translation Workflow

The following are two examples of workflows you can use to translate your ITD files. The purpose of these workflows is to help guide you through the essential steps.

NOTE

For a more detailed explanation of different scenarios that may occur when you have some team members working in SDLX and some working in SDL Trados Studio, refer to the SDL Trados Studio 2009 Migration Guide.

Single-File Translation

This example shows the steps you can follow when using the Open Document command for translating single ITD files in SDL Trados Studio. If this is your first time using SDL Trados Studio, you should specify your default settings, translation memories, AutoSuggest dictionaries and termbases before you start.

Project File Translation

This example shows the steps you can follow when creating a project where you can translate multiple ITD files and optionally use packages. This allows you to use the automated project preparation options available in SDL Trados Studio, such as converting the files to SDLXLIFF format and analyzing the files prior to translation.
