Language Pairs

Use this version of the Language Pair settings to specify the language pairs for which you can define translation memory, batch processing, termbase and AutoSuggest dictionary settings.

These settings appear in multiple dialog boxes in SDL Trados Studio. Click here for more information about finding the appropriate dialog box.

Description

Source Language

The source language of the new project. If the source language was detected by SDL Trados Studio or you have a default source language specified in your settings, the source language is automatically selected.

Target Languages:

Available

The list of the available target languages. Select a language from the list in the Available box and click Add to add it to the Selected box. To select more than one target language at the same time, press the Ctrl key while you make your selections.

 

NOTE

  • You can also double-click a language in the Available pane to move it to the Selected pane and vice-versa.

  •  The list of languages in the Available box includes all languages that are supported by SDL Trados Studio . However, you must make sure that the languages you select are also supported by your system.

 

Selected

The target language of the new translation. If the target language was detected by SDL Trados Studio or you have a default target language specified in your settings, the target language is automatically selected.

Project files will be translated into these languages. To remove a language from the list, select it and click the Remove button.

Click Remove All to remove all selected languages.
