Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Filters

Use the Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Filters settings to specify what filters are applied against the translation memory. These filters are applied to translations retrieved from the translation memory when lookups are performed. This can be for all language pairs or for one language pair. You can create, edit and remove filters. There are two types of filters that you can apply to a translation memory:

Box

Description

Filter Penalties: Use this option to apply penalties to translation units in the translation memory that do not match the conditions of the filter.

Name

The name of the filter.

Penalty

The penalty applied to matching translation units that do not match the filter conditions.

Condition

The conditions of the filter.

Add

Click this to specify the conditions and penalties of a new filter and to display the Add Filter dialog box.

Edit

Click this to edit the conditions and penalties of the currently selected filter and to display the Edit Filter dialog box.

Delete

Click this to delete the currently selected filter.

Hard Filters: Use this option to exclude translation units from your search results that do not match the conditions of the filter.

Edit

Click this to specify the conditions of the new filter and to display the Filter dialog box.
