A translator can check the spelling of a target document at any time, by pressing the [F7] key.
If the option Spell checking as you type is enabled (by default it is enabled), SDL Trados Studio spell checks the target document as the translator types, and marks misspelled words with a red wavy underline.
When SDL Trados Studio checks the spelling, it looks in all dictionaries that are enabled for the target language.
SDL Trados Studio uses Hunspell software and dictionaries for its spell checking. For more information about Hunspell spell checker, see the Hunspell home page: sourceforge.net/projects/hunspell.
SDL Trados Studio contains dictionaries for a number of languages, as shown in the following table.
The table contains a list of the standard dictionary files in the Hunspell sub-folder of the SDL Trados Studio program folder. The naming format is: <language>_<country>.dic.

A dictionary is a text file. It has one word per line, in alphabetical
order. The first line of the file is the number of words.
The text file must be in UTF-8 format. To find out how to change to UTF-8
format, refer to the documentation for your text editor.
