WorldServer entry forms
allow inputting and editing of content with the aid of an HTML form,
which can have controls, such as WYSIWYG editing for validating input,
previewing content, and providing instruction. In addition, entry
forms are a powerful means for system administrators to integrate
content creation, editing, and validation with any of their existing
systems.
Entry Forms work similar
to other editors, like the Freeform Editor. Edit each column and
then click Save to save the given changes. You can also access the
Viewer and perform a term database search.
Note: To create entry forms, you download the EntryForms.zip file from
the WorldServer Home tab and follow the enclosed instructions.
To enter a new entry form, click Add and fill out the parameters.
The name will be used to identify the Entry Form throughout WorldServer
(and what will appear in the AIS properties). The description is
purely for the user's benefit and won't be used by WorldServer. The
URL defines the location of the Entry Form and will be what WorldServer
calls when a user edits an asset in a folder that has been assigned
to the given Entry Form.
It should end with either
a “
?
” or a “
&
” and the domain should match the one specified
in the Entry Form code. If the Entry Form code uses the full domain
(for example, http://myservername.company.com), the Entry Form custom component should as well.
After
the new Entry Form has been added, associate it with assets by selecting
it in the Entry Form AIS property Entry Form for the
parent folder of the asset. This may be done at Management
> Asset Interface System
> View and Change Properties.
