TMs that are stored on GroupShare are called GroupShare TMs. TMs that are stored on the user's computer are called local TMs.
Users access both GroupShare and local TMs by using a client application such as SDL Trados Studio.
Users can access a GroupShare TM from anywhere. A GroupShare TM can be accessed and updated concurrently by many users. By contrast, usually only one user on the local computer can access a local TM.
A GroupShare TM is stored in a database on a GroupShare database server. Use GroupShare to manage these TMs. To access or manage a GroupShare TM, a user needs to have sufficient permissions.
Use a client application such as Studio to manage local TMs.
