Creating a GroupShare TM

When you create a GroupShare TM, you do most of the steps before you enter the Translation Memory tab.

1. Ensure the container is registered

The container stores the TM.

Before you create a GroupShare TM, you need a database to hold a container for the TM and the GroupShare database server to serve the database. The IT administrator creates these.

Go to the Infrastructure tab to register the container details in GroupShare. The details you need are the database that holds the container and the GroupShare database server.

2. Ensure the organization or library exists

In the User Management tab, create or edit the organization hierarchy to ensure there is a suitable organization or library for the TM.

3. Ensure the language resources exist

In the Language Resources tab, ensure there is a language resource for each language that you plan to include in the TM.

4. Ensure all needed custom fields exist

If you plan to include any custom fields in the TM, go to the Fields tab and ensure that these fields exist.

5. Create the TM

Go to the Translation Memories tab and click Create. You can fill in the sections (General Properties, Language Pairs and so on), in any order.
