The data in a termbase is at one of three levels: entry, language, and term. A user needs different access rights to view termbase data in the SDL MultiTerm Client Components, depending on which of these levels the data is in.
You can assign these rights when you add or edit a MultiTerm role, from the Termbase Wide Access Rules and Entry Wide Access Rules tabs in the New Role and Edit Role windows.
For a role member to see a termbase entry and its default descriptive fields (Entry number, Entry class and Created/Modified Date), assign the following access rights to the role:
Read entry class access for that entry class from the Termbase Wide Access Rules. For example, if the entry is in class Unspecified, the user needs the right to read Unspecified entries.
Read language level access for that language from the Entry Wide Access Rules tab.
Make sure that in the MultiTerm client component the user selected the Full layout or a customized layout that displays entry level fields.
For a role member to see a termbase entry and all its descriptive fields, assign the following access rights to the role:
All the rights needed to read an entry.
Read entry level access from the Entry Wide Access Rules tab.
For a role member to add or edit a termbase entry at langauge level, assign the following access rights to the role:
Read and Write entry class access for that entry class in the Termbase Wide Access Rules tab. For example, if the entry is in class Unspecified, the user needs the right to read Unspecified entries.
Read and Write language level access for that language from the Entry Wide Access Rules tab.
