Upgrade Translation Memories Wizard > Output Translation Memories

Use the Output Translation Memories page of Upgrading Translation Memories wizard to specify how the translation memories will be created from the selected translation memories, TMX files and TXT files (SDL Workbench or WinAlign Export). You can create them based on how many translation memories you have selected, by language pairs or you can customize how they will be created.

NOTE

File-based translation memories in SDL Trados Studio can only contain one language pair and server-based translation memory can contain multiple language pairs. If you are upgrading a translation memory that contains multiple language pairs and you want to create a file-based translation memory, you must create an SDL Trados Studio translation memory for each language pair.

To display this page, click Next on the Input Translation Memories page of the Upgrade Translation Memories wizard.

Input translation memories

This lists the translation memories and TMX files you added on the Input Translation Memories page and what source and target languages they contain.

Each translation memory file is displayed twice. Once for each language direction. For example, an English to German translation memory is displayed twice with the language direction as English to German and German to English. This allows you to change the language direction of the translation memory that you are upgrading.

To add a translation memory or TMX file to a new translation memory, select the translation memory or TMX file from this box and then select the translation memory into which you want to upgrade it to from the Output translation memories box and click Add.

NOTE

TXT files (SDL WinAlign or Workbench) will appear as translation memory (TMW) files because of the conversion process that was performed on the Input Translation Memories page of the wizard.

Output translation memories

This lists the translation memories that will be created from the upgrade process. Under each new translation memory in this box, the translation memories and TMX files from which it will be created are listed.

To create another translation memory, click Create.

To change the name of the translation memory, click Rename and type the new name.

To cancel the creation of the translation memory, click Delete to remove it from the list.
