In order to use AutoSuggest, you must first enable it in the Options dialog box and then select which sources you want to use for the suggestions. AutoSuggest retrieves its suggestions from these sources: AutoSuggest dictionaries which are extracted from the translation memories (*.sdltm) or *.tmx files, termbases, AutoText, translation memories and machine translation providers.
Select File > Options.
Select AutoSuggest from the navigation tree.
Select the Enable AutoSuggest check box to enable AutoSuggest.
Under AutoSuggest Providers, select the sources to include AutoSuggest.
AutoSuggest Dictionaries - Select this to include the AutoSuggest dictionaries. This contains phrases extracted from the translation memories (*.sdltm) or *.tmx files. Click here for information on how to create an AutoSuggest dictionary.
Termbases - Select this to include terms from your SDL MultiTerm termbases in AutoSuggest.
AutoText - Select this to include AutoText entries in AutoSuggest. AutoText entries must be added into AutoSuggest.
Translation Memory and Automated Translation - Select this to extend AutoSuggest to matches from translation memories, machine translation or concordance search.
Click OK to save the settings and to close the Options dialog box.
AutoSuggest is now enabled and will provide you with suggestions when you start typing in a target segment.
