Automated translation is translation performed by computer programs without any human input to the process.
The application that provides the automated translation is installed on a server and is accessed in the same way as a server-based translation memory. SDL provides access to several automated translation services or you can add an automated server of your own. For more information, see Overview: Automated Translation.
Studio also automatically translates some types of placeables if they occur as the only content in a segment and there is no translation memory match. For example, number only segments may be automatically translated to the target segment.
