You can create, update and search translation memories in SDL Trados Studio.
To use a server-based translation, you need to have access to an installation of SDL Studio GroupShare (TM Server 2011) or a previous version of SDL TM Server.
You can use file-based translation memories in this format *sdltm. These can be translation memories created in either of these versions:
SDL Trados Studio 2011 (all versions)
SDL Trados Studio 2009 (all versions)
You can also use the following file-based TMs:
SDLX 2007 *requires free SDLX Translation Memory Plug-in from OpenExchange (http://www.sdl.com/openexchange)
You can use server-based translation memories from:
SDL Studio GroupShare (SDL TM Server 2011)
SDL TM Server 2009 SP3
SDL WorldServer 2011 (version 10.1 and 10.2) - read only access
SDLX SQL Server-based TMs
*requires free SDLX Translation Memory Plug-in from OpenExchange (http://www.sdl.com/openexchange)
You can also upgrade the following to the SDL Trados Studio 2011/2011 SP1 format in the Upgrade Translation Memories wizard:

SDLX 2007 File-based Translation Memories (.mdb)
SDLX 2007 SQL Server-based Translation Memories
SDL Trados 2007 File-based Translation Memories (.tmw)
