Target Encoding

By default, SDL Trados Studio automatically identifies the appropriate encoding for the language you are translating a document into and therefore, (auto-select) is displayed in this box. If your selected filter for the file specifies the type of encoding, it will be displayed in this box instead. If you want to change the selected encoding, select an alternative selection from the drop-down list.

The encoding specified here is used to generate the translated document when you select the Save As Target option.
