Segment Status Column (Editor Window)

The segment status column appears in the center of the Editor window in the Editor view. The column displays icons that provide information about the current status (confirmation level) of target language segments. The icons indicate:

  • The current status of the translation.

  • The origin of the translation.

  • The translation memory percentage match applied to the translation.

  • The segment lock status.

  • If verification found any errors.

The icons are illustrated below.

NOTE

If you want to view the segment status for:

  • all segments in a file, display the Confirmation Statistics window in the Files view.

  • all the files in the project, display the Confirmation Statistics window in the Projects view.

Not Translated

This segment target has not been translated or edited yet.

Draft

The segment target may have been changed but it is not yet considered fully translated, or a translation memory match was applied to the segment but the segment text has since been edited.

Translated

confirm.jpg

The translation has been confirmed as complete.

Translation Rejected

The translation has been rejected by the reviewer.

Translation Approved

approved_translation.jpg

The translation has been approved by the reviewer.

Sign-off Rejected

The translation has been rejected during the sign-off process.

Signed Off

The translation has been approved and signed-off.  It is ready to be released to the customer.

100percent_match.jpg

The segment was translated by applying a 100% translation memory match (exact match). 100% matches are automatically confirmed.

ContextMatch.jpg

The segment was translated by applying a context match from the translation memory match.

A context match is a 100% match on both segment content and segment context. Context matches are automatically confirmed.

When you edit a segment, the background color of the context match figure disappears.

The segment was translated by applying a PerfectMatch. It is automatically locked when opened for translation.

fuzzy_match.jpg

The segment was translated by applying a fuzzy translation memory match but has not yet been confirmed. A fuzzy match is a less than 100% match.

fuzzy_match_edited_then_confirmed.jpg

The segment was translated by applying a 77% translation memory match (a fuzzy match) and then editing and confirming the translation. The fuzzy match figure is retained so that you can tell that this was a fuzzy match which was subsequently edited.

When you edit a segment, the background color of the percentage match figure disappears.

The segment was translated and confirmed by auto-propagation.

The segment was translated and confirmed by automated translation.

tc_rejected_match.jpg

This segment was translated on the basis that the tracked changes in the source were rejected. The match to the translation memory is a 100% exact match. During translation, a lookup in the TM is also performed as if the tracked changes in the source are accepted. This result is displayed in the Translation Results window.

 

Verification Message Icons

The following icons indicate the translation failed translation verification. The reason for the failure is displayed in the Messages window. The different icons show the severity of the error message.
