The format menu is displayed in the Editor view when a document is open.
The following table describes the commands on the Format menu.

Change Case |
Select to change the casing of selected text. The Change Case dialog box is displayed. You can also change the casing of selected text by holding down [SHIFT], and repeatedly pressing F3 to cycle through different text casings. |

Clear Selected Tag Formatting |
Select to remove formatting (and the formatting tags) from selected text. Shortcut command: Ctrl+Space. |

Clear Tag Formatting |
Select to clear all formatting (and formatting tags) from the target segment. Shortcut command: Ctrl+Alt+Space. |

Insert Tag |
Select to insert a tag. The Insert Tag dialog box is displayed. You can also insert tags using the QuickInsert toolbar. |

Select to activate tag protection. When tag protection is active, tags cannot be deleted. |

QuickInsert Settings |
Select to edit the QuickInsert settings applicable to the open document. The QuickInsert settings page is displayed. |

Restore Tag |
Select to restore a tag when a ghost tag is displayed. When you insert the missing tag, the ghost tag disappears. Shortcut command: Ctrl+Shift+G. |

Select to choose the format in which you want tags to be displayed.
Normally SDL Trados Studio settings specify that recognized formatting tags are hidden, so tags remain hidden when inserted, but text is displayed in the format specified by the tags. |
