Maintenance Toolbar - Translation Memories View

The following table describes the options on the Maintenance toolbar in the Translation Memories view. This list is sorted alphabetically.

Description

BatchEdit.jpg

Batch Edit

Click this to display the Batch Edit wizard. The wizard enables you apply an update to multiple translation units simultaneously.

BatchDelete.jpg

Batch Delete

Click this to display the Batch Delete wizard. The wizard enables you to delete multiple translation units simultaneously.

CommitChanges.jpg

Commit Changes

Click this to apply any pending changes to the translation units in the active translation memory.

discardchangestotranslationunit.jpg

Discard TU Changes

Click this to cancel any pending changes that have not yet been applied to the translation memory. You cannot discard changes that have already been committed.

Export_icon.jpg

Export

Click this to export data from the active translation memory to a Translation Memory Exchange (.tmx) document.

Go to First Page

Click this to display the first page of translation units for the active translation memory.

go_to_next_page_icon.jpg

Go to Next Page

Click this to display the next page of translation units for the active translation memory.

Go to Previous Page

Click this to display the previous page of translation units for the active translation memory.

Import_icon.jpg

Import

Click this to import data into the active translation memory from a supported document type.

Mark TU for Deletion

Click this to flag the currently selected translation unit in the TM side-by-side editor window for deletion. When you commit (save) the changes to the translation memory, the flagged translation units are deleted from the translation memory.

Shortcut command: [CTRL] + [D]

No Tag Text

Click this to display tags without their IDs. For example,  tag_-_no_text.jpg.

showwhitespace.gif

Show whitespace characters

Click this to toggle the display of whitespace characters on/off. When they are displayed, whitespace characters (for example, spaces, non-breaking spaces, tabs and line breaks) appear as symbols in translation unit text.

tag_ID.jpg

Tag ID

Click this to display tag IDs. For example, tag_-_ID.jpg. Tag IDs are unique identifiers which are automatically assigned to every tag in the source document when it is being prepared for translation.

Translation Memory Settings

Click this to change the currently selected translation memory settings.

The Translation Memory Settings dialog box is displayed.

You can view and edit the settings and define password protection for file-based translation memories.
