This topic describes how to assign values to custom fields or edit existing field values for individual translation units in the translation memory. For example, if the translation memory contains a field called Usage, you could assign the value, Printed Guides to indicate that this particular translation should only be used for printed guides as opposed to help.
You can also change currently assigned values.

To assign values to custom fields:
In the Translation Memories view, make the translation memory for which you want to assign or edit custom field values the active translation memory.
In the TM side-by-side editor window, select the translation unit that you want to assign a value to. The field values currently assigned to the translation unit are displayed in the Custom Fields box in the Field Values window.
Add or edit the custom field value:

in the Custom Fields box, click inside the Value box to the right of the Field name and either enter the value or select the value from the drop-down list. The status of the translation unit changes to Edited

When you have finished making changes to the current page of translation units, commit the changes using one of the following methods:
Select Maintenance > Commit Changes from the menu bar.
Click Commit
Changes
on the Maintenance Toolbar.
NOTE |
You cannot revert the translation unit back to its original state once the edit has been committed. |
To undo the changes you have made:
Select the edited segment.
Select Maintenance > Discard TU Changes from the menu bar.
