How to Connect to an Automated Translation Server

You can connect to an automated translation server to use during pre-translation or translation.

  1. Choose where you want to add the connection.

  2. In the dialog box that you chose to open, select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation from the navigation tree.

  1. Click Add and select one of the following from the drop-down list:

  • Select SDL BeGlobal Community from the drop-down list to connect to the free SDL BeGlobal community automated translation server. If you do not have an SDL BeGlobal Community account activated on this computer, you will be prompted to enter your details and activate your account via a confirmation email.

  • Select SDL BeGlobal Enterprise from the drop-down list to connect to an SDL BeGlobal automated translation server.

  • Select SDL Automated Translation from the drop-down list to connect to the free SDL community automated translation server or an automated translation server of your own.

  • Select Google Translate from the drop-down list to connect to the Google Translate automated translation server. This is now a paid for service that requires an API key. The API key you enter here will update all other projects that use Google Translate.

  1. Click OK to close the Options or Project Settings dialog boxes.

The connection to the automated translation server is added to the list on the Translation Memory and Automated Translation page. It will be included in the lookup during translation and the results will be displayed in the Translation Results window.
