Setting Up the TQA Configuration
As a project manager, you set up a standard Translation Quality Assessment
(TQA) configuration to guide reviewers when evaluating your translation
projects. As reviewers evaluate a translation using the configuration
metrics, SDL Trados Studio computes this feedback to automatically determine
if the translation meets the quality threshold defined in the configuration.
Using predefined TQA configurations
For a fast start with using TQA, we recommend that you create and use
TQA profiles based on the industry standard TQA configuration templates
that ship with Studio.
- Follow the steps described in the How
to import a project template help page to import one or more TQA
project templates from the Studio Project Templates folder.
- Go to File > Setup > Project Templates.
- Select one of the industry standard TQA configuration templates
you would like to use and click Edit.
- In the Project Template Settings
page, go to Translation Quality Assessment
> Profiles and click Export settings.
- Save the *.sdltqasettings file.
You can use the saved TQA settings file in your future projects to quickly
deploy the quality assessment framework.
- a. For the active project only, click Home
tab > Project
Settings.
b. For all future projects, click File
> Options.
- Expand the
Translation Quality Assessment tree and click Profiles.
- Click Import settings and confirm the overwrite settings
dialog box.
- Browse for the saved TQA settings file and click Open.
Creating a new TQA configuration
To create TQA configurations from scratch, use the following steps:
- a. For the active project only, click Home
tab > Project
Settings.
b. For all future projects, click File
> Options.
- Expand the
Translation Quality Assessment tree.
- Configure the TQA metrics available on the Categories,
Severities, Scoring
and Document Type pages. See the
Configuring TQA Metrics
page for more information.
- Click OK to close the Project Settings dialog box and apply
your TQA configuration.
Using the TQA configuration
Reviewers can apply the metrics in your TQA configuration when reviewing
in Assess Quality mode. To activate
Assess Quality mode, open the project
file and, on the Review tab, use the
split button to choose
Assess Quality. This displays and activates
the
Add and Edit
and Delete buttons
which reviewers can use for giving feedback on translations.
NOTE |
The
Translation Quality Assessment
mode is enabled only for projects with an available TQA configuration. |
