MultiTerm 5 procedures

The following MultiTerm 5 import procedures should be modified as appropriate for your environment.

  1. Launch MultiTerm and import the ZIP file.
  2. In MultiTerm, choose File > Create New Termbase .
  3. In the Index Fields column, enter the appropriate source and target locales exactly as they appear in WorldServer. If you need to add an index field (a locale), click Add and type the locale in the Field Name box.
  4. In the Text Fields column, enter the names of all WorldServer term attributes.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Type a name for the new termbase and click Save.
  7. Back in the MultiTerm main page, choose File > Import to open the Import Options dialog box.
  8. From the When entry matches filter drop-down menu in Step 3 of the Import Options screen, select Synchronize on index field. If you have set a filter, select the option you want from the When entry does not match filter drop-down menu.
  9. When you select Synchronize on index field in Step 3 of the Import Options screen, the options under Step 5 of that screen become active. In the Synchronize on Index drop-down, select the language that MultiTerm should use as the basis for its duplicate recognition here.
  10. From the When termbase entry matches filter drop-down menu, select Combine with termbase entry. This means that when MultiTerm finds a duplicate in an import entry, it combines it with the corresponding termbase entry.
  11. Click OK to confirm and exit the Import Options dialog box.
  12. Select the file that was extracted from the exported ZIP file from WorldServer and click Open.
  13. Optionally, click Yes to create a log file for the import.
You have now imported the WorldServer terminology database information for use in MultiTerm 5.
