The layout and options in the Editor view in SDL Trados Studio change depending on what Editor configuration is used. The different configurations are designed to assist you in the different tasks you might perform when translating or reviewing. The following items may change in the Editor view when a different configuration is used:
The options available on the Translation and Review toolbar and Translation menu.
The statuses used to confirm or approve translations.
The position of the Editor window.
The position of the Editor view windows.
The windows that are displayed.
Different Editor configurations are used depending on the method you use to open a document. Also if you are opening files from a project package, the manual task assigned to the files within that package specifies which configuration is used. For example, if the Translate task is assigned, the documents from the package open using the Translation configuration. There are three types of configurations:
