How to Generate a Translated Document

This topic describes how to generate a translated document in the Editor view. You generate a translated document by saving the target language segments of the active document to a file of the required type using the Save Target As option on the File menu in the Editor view.

To generate a translated document:

  1. In the Editor view, select File > Save Target As from the menu bar. The Save Target As dialog box is displayed.

  2. The location to which the file will be generated defaults to the same location where your source and bilingual documents are saved in your project. If you want to change the location, select a different location from the Save in drop-down list.

  3. If you want to change the name of the target document, enter a different name in the File name box. This name automatically defaults to the name of the original source document.

  4. If you want to choose a different encoding, select one from the Encoding drop-down list.

  5. Click Save.

NOTE

Encoding settings for a document can be specified by the selected filter for that document or in the Active Document Settings dialog box. The encoding settings specified in the Active Document Settings dialog box are automatically selected when you use the Save Target As option.
