PDF File Type

To process a PDF file, SDL Trados Studio converts it to Word before presenting it to the translator, and saves the translated file as a Word document.

Hence, for the PDF file type you can specify all the options that you have for Microsoft Word and RTF File Types. The settings for each of the file types (for example, PDF, Word 2003, and RTF) are stored separately.

The PDF file type has one dialog box that Word and RTF file types do not have: the Settings page. This covers the settings that SDL Trados Studio uses to convert PDF files to Word.
