How to Track File Status

This topic describes how to view the file status information. The file status is based on the confirmation level of each segment in the file. At key points throughout the translation project, statistics about the confirmation level of each segment is stored in the project file in order to give a quick over of the state of one or more files and the progress of the project as a whole. This can be viewed from the Projects and Files view. These calculations occur:

To view file status in the Files view:

  1. Click the Files button in the navigation pane. All of the files in the active project are displayed in the Files view.

  2. In the box at the top of the Files view navigation pane, select the required target language. Project files for the target language are displayed on the right.

  3. The status of the file is displayed in the Status column on the right.

The following are the file status levels for a file in SDL Trados Studio:

 

File Status

Description

Unspecified

All segments within the file have confirmation level Unspecified.

In Translation

There is at least one Unspecified or Draft segment.

Translated

No segments are Unspecified or Draft and at least one segment is Translated.

In Review

No segments are Unspecified or Draft and at least one segment is Rejected or Approved Translation.

Rejected Translation

No segments are Unspecified, Draft or Translated and at least one segment is Rejected Translation.

Approved Translation

All segments in the file have Approved Translation or Approved Sign-off confirmation level but at least one segment has Approved Translation confirmation level.

In Sign-Off

All segments in the file have Approved Translation, Approved Sign-off or Rejected Sign-off confirmation level but at least one segment has Approved Translation confirmation level.

Rejected Sign-off

All segments in the file have Approved Sign-off or Rejected Sign-off confirmation level.

Approved Sign-off

All segments in the file have Approved Sign-off confirmation level.
