You can check the spelling of a target document at any time, by pressing the [F7] key. If the option Spell checking as you type is enabled (by default it is enabled), SDL Trados Studio spell checks the target document as you type, and marks misspelled words with a red wavy underline.
When Studio checks the spelling, it looks in all dictionaries that are enabled for the target language.
Settings for spell checking are specified in the Options dialog box under Editor > Spelling. Select File > Options to display this dialog box. You can specify the following settings:
Which spell checker you want to use.
What segment elements and segment types to ignore during spell checking.
What custom dictionaries to use.
NOTE |
Depending on which spell checker you select, different settings are available for use on this page. |
In Studio you can choose which spell checker you want to use to check your spelling:
Hunspell - This is automatically installed as part of Studio.
Microsoft Word - This is only available if you have Microsoft Word installed.
