If your organization connects to the Internet through a proxy server, SDL MultiTerm automatically detects the proxy server and the settings needed to use the server. This means that you do not have to specify proxy server settings when you add a new server connection.
|
SDL MultiTerm does not support multiple proxy servers. If you have multiple proxy servers, you can force MultiTerm to use a particular server by adding the server settings to your MultiTerm user settings file. |
Although MultiTerm can automatically detect the proxy server, we recommend that you add the proxy server details to your MultiTerm settings file (settings.xml) as this speeds up the process of connecting to the Internet. The settings file is the first place that MultiTerm looks for proxy server settings.
If the file contains proxy server settings, MultiTerm uses them.
If there are no proxy server settings in the file, MultiTerm will look for a proxy server.
Your MultiTerm settings file can be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\settings.xml
When you add proxy-server settings to your personal MultiTerm settings file (settings.xml), structure the information like this:
<key name="ProxySettings">
<value name="Server">proxy.server.com</value>
<value name="Port">80</value>
</key>
If your proxy server settings change, you have to restart SDL MultiTerm in order for the changes to take effect.
