SDL MultiTerm is fully Unicode compliant and therefore supports a wide range of languages, including bidirectional and double-byte character set (DBCS) languages such as Japanese, Chinese and Korean. However, in order to display non-Western languages successfully, you must have support for the relevant language installed on your computer.
SDL MultiTerm supports the use of an unlimited number of languages per termbase and mixed language content in termbase fields.

SDL recommends that the names of all termbase definitions and termbase objects be in ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) format as this ensures compatibility across different language installations. ASCII is the standard code used for information interchange between systems and has 128 characters. File names in ASCII can use all upper and lowercase letters and numbers. However, they should not contain punctuation marks or other symbols such as \ / : * ’r; ’r; " " < > | or accented characters. |
