This topic describes how to specify default termbase selections and default termbase recognition settings in SDL Trados Studio. Default settings are used when you create a project or create a translation using the Open Document command.
To open a termbase:
Select Tools > Options from the menu bar. The Options dialog box is displayed.
Select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases from the navigation tree. The Project Termbase settings are displayed on the right. Any default termbase selections are listed here.
To add a default termbase selection:
Click Add. The Select Termbases dialog box is displayed.
Select the check box next to the termbase.
If the termbase you want to select is not displayed then do one of the following:
If... |
Then |
you want to use a termbase stored locally in a file, |
|
you want to use a remote termbase stored on a server, |
If you want to add a connection to another SDL server or edit a connection to an existing SDL server, click the Servers button to display the Servers dialog box where you can manage your server connections. |
Continue selecting termbases until the list is complete.
If you want to remove a termbase from the list, select the termbase and click Remove.
Any termbases you have added appear in the Termbases box. The first termbase you add is automatically set as the default termbase. However, if you add more than one termbase at a time, no termbase is set as the default. To set a termbase as the default, select the termbase and click the Set Default button. The termbase is set as the default termbase and is moved to the top of the list of termbases.
Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to move a termbase up or down in the list.
Make sure the appropriate language (index) for each termbase is set in the Indexes pane for each project language.
Select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases > Search Settings from the navigation tree. The Search Settings page is displayed on the right. Make any required changes.
Click OK to close the Options dialog box when you have finished.
NOTE |
Termbases can also be used as a source for AutoSuggest editing. To use a termbase as an AutoSuggest source, you need to select the Termbases option to enable AutoSuggest. |
