AutoSuggest retrieves its suggestions from three sources:  AutoSuggest dictionaries which are extracted from the translation memories (*.sdltm) or *.tmx files, termbases and AutoText. In order to use these sources, you need to select them in the AutoSuggest settings.

To enable AutoSuggest:

  1. Select Tools > Options from the menu bar. The Options dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select AutoSuggest from the navigation tree. The AutoSuggest settings are displayed on the right.

  3. Select the Enable AutoSuggest check box to enable AutoSuggest.

  4. Under AutoSuggest Providers, select the sources to include AutoSuggest.

  5. AutoSuggest Dictionaries - Select this check box to include the AutoSuggest dictionaries. This contains phrases extracted from the translation memories (*.sdltm) or *.tmx files. Click here for information on how to create an AutoSuggest dictionary.

  6. Termbases - Select this check box to include terms from your SDL MultiTerm termbases in AutoSuggest.

  7. AutoText - Select this check box to include AutoText entries in AutoSuggest . AutoText entries must be added or imported into AutoSuggest.

  1. Click OK to save the settings and to close the Options dialog box.

AutoSuggest is now enabled and will provide you with suggestions when you start typing in a target segment.
