Automatic Actions Concept

An automatic action is a workflow step that performs a predefined activity without human intervention.

WorldServer provides many automatic actions, available from the Management > Administration > Customization > Automatic Actions . These are available to you as you create workflows.

The WorldServer Software Development Kit (SDK) also offers additional automatic actions that let users create functions that can be applied to project tasks without requiring user input at the point of execution. In addition, users can create their own customized automatic actions for including in WorldServer. See the WorldServer SDK User Guide for more information.

System User in WorldServer

Some operations in WorldServer are run by the System user. The System user is an internal context used to run background operations when a real user is not available. For example, all automatic actions run in the System user context. Any operations that report user information as they run record System if run in the System user context. For example, if a workflow uses the Save automatic action and this action has Update TM? set to True, the TM entries generated by the automatic action have System as the entry creator and modifier.
