Workflows have a workflow type property, which you set on the Start step or when you save the workflow. There are three possible values:

• Asset Based (Default)
• Term Based
• Quote Based

For asset based workflows, the checkbox Clean up segmentation data at task completion is selected by default. The checkbox marks obsolete segments for cleanup at the next run of the Segmented Assets Cleaner. This cleaner is run by two recurrences, GC_TASK (the standard garbage collection recurrence) and SEGMENTATION_GC_TASK. See the Garbage Collection online help topic for more information.

Note: To automate the process of validating a term or term entry for a validation process, select the Term Based type workflow. This ensures that the workflow appears as a selection in the Validate New and Updated Terms or Term Entries or Create a TD Project from the Result Set page. See Validating Terminology Database Terms.
