Filter Engine Queue
The Filter Engine Queue allows you to monitor the status of jobs assigned to the File Type Server (FTS) across the WorldServer environment. You can choose to see all active jobs, or all completed and canceled jobs.
Assignments > Filter Engine Queue
Note: Jobs related to FTS filters appear on the queue. Other filter categories do not use the queue.
The queue consists of the following controls:
Column
Description
Job ID
The internal engine identifier.
Job Type
The process the engine performs on the file. Can include: extract and generate.
Status
The current status of the job: processing, filtering, succeeded.
Source File
The file submitted to the engine.
Target File
The resulting file after the engine performs the assigned process.
Completion Date
The date and time the job finished.
Execution Log
A link to a log of that particular job's activity.
Viewing Dynamic Updates to the Filter Engine Queue
By default, the Filter Engine Queue displays a static snapshot of the tasks in the queue. To view continuous updates, click Turn auto refresh on. This feature allows you to watch the flow of jobs through the system.
By default, this page is updated every ten seconds. You can change the frequency of updates by going to Tools > Personal Preferences and editing the field, How often to auto refresh pages.
Monitoring Jobs
Views help you focus on a subset of all the filter engine jobs in the system. You have the following choices:
View
Description
Active jobs
Information on current activity in the filter engines.
Completed and canceled jobs
Information on other activity in the filter engines.
Filter
An extracted subset of information, sorted either by the Job ID or Status category.
Configurable email notifications will let you know if a particular job is taking longer than it should. By default notifications are sent out if the filter engine takes longer than 30 minutes after starting the job. Administrators can adjust this and other fts_proxy_filter settings in the general.properties file
Filtering Job Views
The Filter option lets you view a subset of jobs in the queue by a particular category. For example, you might want to filter on all jobs with a particular status, or on a particular job number.
  1. Set the Job View to see either active or completed and canceled jobs.
  2. From the Filter list, select the category to filter on, for example, Status.
  3. In the text box, type the value to filter on, for example, Executing.
  4. Click Apply.
