Splitting and Merging Translation Segments
You may want to split a segment to increase the chances of the translation workbench finding translation memory matches or terminology database entries or to make a large segment easier to translate. Likewise, you can merge segments that are better translated together for a more natural translation.
Do not split or merge segments that you have already translated, as splitting or merging the segment deletes the translation in progress. If you do need to split or merge a segment that you have already started translating, you can copy the contents of the target, then split or merge the segment, then paste the translation into the new segment and re-arrange the translation as necessary.
Attention: Use split or merge only if absolutely necessary, because in doing so you are going against the natural WorldServer leveraging process.
Note: Do not split or merge translation segments associated with a toolkit when the toolkit is out for translation. If you must split or merge segments, import the current translated kit, perform the split or merge, then export a new translation kit.
