Aligning Single File Pair

Align single files when you want to pair one source document to its corresponding target document and generate one single alignment result (*.sdlalign) file.

By default, when you align a single file pair, Studio automatically opens the *.sdlalign file for review in the Alignment view. Here you can edit the connections and the segment content and also save the  alignment file as *.sdlxliff for extra editing or QA check in the Editor view.

To align one file pair of files for subsequent review in the Alignment view:

  1. On the Welcome or the Translation Memories view, click Align Documents and choose Align Single File Pair from the drop-down menu.
  2. Select a TM and the Documents to Align on the Align Documents dialog box.

  3. Click Finish to start aligning the two files and open the generated *.sdlalign result file in the Alignment view.

NOTE

You can also align a pair of documents without review if you just want to create TM matches for your project and return to your translation work. For more information, see Aligning Without Review.
