Confirm.png/CompleteReview_48x48-32.png/CompleteSignOff_48x48-32.png

  Confirm

close2.pngopen.pngConfirm and Move to Next Unconfirmed Segment

Confirms the segment, sends the changes to the attached TMs and moves to the next unlocked segment which has one of these statuses:

    • doc_icon.jpg Not Translated

    • drafticon.jpg Draft

    • rejected_translation.jpg Translation Rejected

    • rejected_sign-off.jpgSign Off Rejected

close2.pngopen.pngConfirm and Move to Next Segment

Confirms the segment, sends the changes to the attached TMs and moves to the next unlocked segment, regardless of its status.

close2.pngopen.pngConfirm and Translate until Next Fuzzy Match

Confirms the segment, sends the changes to the attached TMs and moves to the next unlocked segment with a fuzzy match status.

There are two scenarios where you might want to use this command:

Translating a Document

If you use this command when you are translating a document, you can automatically translate segments with exact matches from the TM. If there is no exact match, you can also apply fuzzy translations, which you can edit as appropriate.

When the segment is confirmed in this scenario, the cursor moves the next segment and performs a TM lookup. If the TM returns an exact match it automatically translates and confirms the translation and then continues to the next segment. If there is no match or a fuzzy match, it will stop.

NOTE

This command is similar to the Translate to Fuzzy command in Trados 2007

Reviewing a Document

If you use this command when you are reviewing a document that has confirmed translations, you can check if the translations in the document match the TM translations. If they do not match you can then choose to update the TM or update the document translation.

When a segment is confirmed in this scenario, the cursor moves to the next segment and performs a TM lookup. If the TM lookup returns an exact match and it is the same as the confirmed translation then it will continue to the next segment, otherwise it will stop.

close2.pngopen.pngConfirm but do not Move to Next Segment

Confirms the segment, sends the changes to the attached TMs and keeps the cursor in the current segment.

You might want to use this command when reviewing a document in order to:

    • avoid skipping locked segments.
    • make scattered changes after manually identifying which translation units require corrections.

The effect of these commands depends on how the current document is opened: translation, review or sign-off.
