Translations are confirmed at segment level. When you have finished translating a segment or if you want to approve a translation during review you should confirm the segment. This topic describes how to confirm the translation when translating, reviewing or signing off a document in the Editor window in the Editor view.

You can also confirm a group of translations by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on the segment number column to select the rows you want to confirm. Right-click in the segment number column of the last selected row and select Change Segment Status > Translated/Translation Approved/Signed Off from the shortcut menu. |
When you confirm a translation the following things happen automatically:
Depending on whether you
have a document open for translation, review or sign-off, the following
icons appear in the segment
status column; this enables you to quickly see which segments
have been translated/approved and which have not.

The translation is automatically added to the translation memory. If you prefer, you can change the default system settings so that translation memory updates are performed manually. Automatic translation memory updating is controlled from the Options dialog box.
Segment verification is performed. Segment verification errors are displayed in the Messages window.
The translation can be viewed in the Preview window.
Your cursor is automatically placed in the next unconfirmed segment.

By default, when the system applies a 100% translation memory match to a segment, the segment is automatically confirmed and an update is made to the translation memory. This is also an optional setting which is controlled from the Options dialog box. |
