New Project Wizard > Termbases

The Termbases page of the New Project Wizard is used to add or remove local and remote MultiTerm termbases in your project and specify the languages (indexes).

To display this page, click Next on the Translation Memory and Automated Translation page of the New Project wizard.

Box/Column/Button

Description

Termbases:

They are ordered by priority (highest priority being the first termbase in the list). The termbase priority is used to determine the order that termbase suggestions are made.

Enabled

When this option is selected, the termbase is automatically searched during translation when a segment becomes the active segment. For more information, see Terminology Recognition.

Termbase

This column displays the name of the termbase you have added.

Filter

This column displays the filter associated with the termbase. This filter restricts the results that SDL MultiTerm displays when you search a termbase during translation. For example, you can use a filter when searching a termbase to show only those entries that were created or modified after a certain date.

Move Up

Select a termbase and click this to move the termbase up in the list to change the selected termbase priority.

Move Down

Select a termbase and click this to move the termbase down in the list to change the selected termbase priority.

Set Default

Select a termbase and click this to set that termbase as the default termbase. This termbase determines the languages (indexes) that are used. New termbase entries added during translation in the Editor view are added to the default termbase.

Add

Click this to display the Select Termbases dialog box where you can add a local or remote termbases to the project.

Remove

Click this to remove the selected termbase from the project.

Indexes:

The languages you selected on the Project Languages page are displayed below.

Each language must be mapped to a language (index) in the termbase:

Project Language

This column displays the source and target languages chosen for the project.

Index

This column displays the closest matching language (index) in the default termbase for the source language and target language(s) in the project.

For each project language, select the language (index) to which it should be mapped.

NOTE

If there is more than one index that it is close match to the project language, for example, if there is a main language and one or more sublanguages such as French (France), French (Canada) and French (Belgium), the closest matching index will appear in a drop-down list, where you can change the selection as needed.

If there is no matching index available for a project language, the Index column will be blank and you will not be able to use active terminology recognition for that language in your project.
