New translation projects are created using the New Project wizard. Before you start you should:
Place the project source files in a folder along with any reference files.
Decide which translation memories you want to be applied to the file. (optional)
Know what target languages the files are to be translated into.
Know the location of any earlier translated versions of the project files.
Have decided whether this project should be based on settings used in an earlier project or a template.
If you choose to use the Default project template, it contains settings that are specified in the Options dialog box. For example, there are settings that control the:
Source and target language.
Translation memories applied to a file.
Translation memory options.
Termbases applied to a file.
AutoSuggest dictionaries used.
Batch processing settings.
File Type settings.
You can change these settings when you are creating a new translation project or leave the defaults. The settings you specify when creating a project can also be modified, after you have created your new translation project, in the Project Settings dialog box.
