Use the Editor > Automation settings to specify:
What automated actions occur when your translation memory is applied to your document.
What automated actions occur after you confirm a segment in your document.
To display the Editor > Automation settings, select Tools > Options from the menu bar and select Editor > Automation from the navigation tree in the Options dialog box.

Perform lookup when active segment changes |
When this option is selected, SDL Trados Studio will automatically perform a translation memory lookup when the cursor moves to a new segment. |
Apply best match after successful lookup |
When this option is selected, SDL Trados Studio will automatically apply the best lookup result to the current segment. NOTE This option is not applied to segments that have been confirmed or that you have edited. This means that translations in confirmed segments and in segments that you have edited or are editing are not overwritten. |
Copy source when no match is found |
Select this if you want the source segment text to be copied to the target segment when there is no translation memory match for the source segment. |
Confirm segment after applying an exact match |
When this option is selected, SDL Trados Studio will automatically confirm segments to which it has applied an exact translation memory match or a context match (CM). |
After Confirming Segments Manually |

Update translation memory |
When this options is selected, when the translator confirms a translation or when a reviewer approves a translation, SDL Trados Studio adds the segment translation to the translation memory. |
Enable verification of segment |
When this option is selected, when the translator confirms a segment, SDL Trados Studio verifies the segment. You can also verify the target document at any time by selecting Tools > Verify from the menu bar in the Editor view. |
