AutoSuggest editing is an optional feature which can be used to speed up manual translation. AutoSuggest monitors what you are typing and, after you have typed the first few characters of a word, presents you with a list of suggested words and phrases in the target language that start with the same characters. If one of the words or phrases matches what you were about to type, you can automatically complete the word or phrase by selecting it from the list. As you continue to type the list of suggested words is continuously updated.

The suggested words and phrases can be from the following sources:
AutoSuggest dictionaries that contain words and phrases extracted from translation memories (*.sdltm or *.tmx files),
SDL MultiTerm termbases that contain terminology or
AutoText that contain words or phrases that you have added to AutoSuggest yourself.
Use the AutoSuggest settings to specify:
Whether or not AutoSuggest is enabled.
Whether or not an AutoSuggest dictionary will be used as a source.
Whether or not an SDL MultiTerm termbase will be used as a source.
Whether or not AutoText will be used as a source.
To display the AutoSuggest settings, select Tools > Options from the menu bar and then select AutoSuggest from the navigation tree in the Options dialog box.
