When you align with review, Studio opens the alignment result file in the Alignment view where you can interactively edit the connections and the segment content. From here, you can also open the alignment file in the Editor view for extra editing or QA checks.
You may want to review the results of the alignment that Studio performs automatically if:
the source files are not exact translations of your target files.
the number of segments in the source file differ significantly from the number of segments in the target file.
you want to save the alignment result file as *.sdlxliff so that you can run extra QA checks and edits before importing the translation units into the translation memory (TM).
you want to save the alignment result file as *.sdlalign so that you can save the alignment for later review.
you want to check each alignment connection individually to make sure you are not adding any misaligned segments to your TM.
If you want to quickly create TM matches instead, align your files without review. This sends the alignment results directly to TM, without displaying the alignments in the Alignment view. For more information, see Aligning Without Review.
By default, Studio aligns all your files for further review by generating an *.sdlalign result file that you can then open in the Alignment view.
Depending on how many files you want to align at a time, choose one of the option below from the Welcome or Translation Memories view > Home tab.
