Categories

Categories and subcategories are assessment options that reviewers can use to classify any translation-related issue that they find in a document. For example, you can add an Accuracy category and define Mistranslation and Omission subcategories for it in this list. When reviewers open the project document, they can label translation mistakes as Accuracy - Mistranslation issues, for example.

Categories are available to reviewers from the Review tab >  Assess Quality > Add or Edit.

To set up a category or subcategory:

  1. On the Translation Quality Assessment > Categories page, use Click to add a new category or Click to add a new subcategory to open the Add Translation Quality Assessment Category dialog box.
  2. Fill in the category's name and its abbreviation.

    NOTE

You cannot create two categories with the same name or two subcategories with the same parent category and the same name. However, you can create a subcategory with the same name as its parent or as a subcategory with another parent category.

  3. If you wish to make this a subcategory, choose an existing category as parent, if not, choose None.
  4. Add a description for you category or subcategory. This description will be displayed to the reviewer during the translation assessment. It can be 1024 characters long.
  5. If you want reviewers to add a comment when they select a category, check the Require the reviewer to add a comment for the category option and add a hint to help the reviewer with the comment. The hint will be displayed under the Comment text area when the reviewer adds a TQA item. It can be 256 characters long.
  6. To set up another category or subcategory right after this one, check the Add another box.
  7. Click Save.

After you defined your categories, you will need to set up severities.

Editing and deleting categories

You can either edit or delete categories and subcategories from the Categories list. If you delete a category, all the subcategories defined for it will also be deleted.
