Importing Alignments into TM

After reviewing an alignment result (*.sdlalign) file in the Alignment view, send the aligned segment pairs to a translation memory (TM) as translation units (TUs). Studio tags each TU resulting from the alignment with the quality value of the aligned pair. For more information about quality value, see Color Codes and Tooltips for Connections.

Quick Import

To quickly import the alignment result into the TM attached to the *.sdlalign file, click Import into Translation Memory on the Home tab in the Alignment view. You can also click on the arrow next to the Import into Translation Memory button and choose Quick Import from the drop-down menu.

NOTE

If you are reviewing an *.sdlalign file that was created on a different computer with a local TM assigned to it, Quick Import first asks you to specify a new TM to replace the one that it cannot find on your computer.
When the import is complete, Studio displays the import results. If there are disconnected segments or pairs that are already available in the in the specified TM, Studio does not import them.

Advanced Import

To set import options before sending the alignment results to a TM:

Click the arrow next to the Import into Translation Memory button and choose Advanced Import from the drop-down menu. This opens the Translation Memory Import Wizard.
Select the TM you want to use for the alignment results and click Next.
Set the Alignment Options on the Alignment and Translation Memory Import Options page and click Finish to start importing alignment results.

When the import is complete, Studio displays the import results. Only pairs that match your specified Alignment quality threshold and your TM import options are imported.

Quick Import vs. Advanced Import
