How to Create a Custom Task Sequence

Custom task sequences allow you to customize what batch tasks are performed on your files and the order in which SDL Trados Studio performs them. These sequences can then be stored for future use.

  1. Click File > Setup > batchtasks.pngTask Sequences. Studio displays the Task Sequences dialog box.

  1. Click Add... The New Task Sequence dialog box is displayed.

  2. Enter a meaningful name and description for the new task sequence.

  3. Create the task sequence by selecting the tasks from the Available Tasks box and clicking Add > to transfer them to the Selected tasks column. Studio will perform the tasks in the order you set here.

NOTE

  • If you get the order wrong, remove the tasks from the Selected tasks column and then add them again in the correct order.

  • To avoid reporting incorrect locked-segments results, make sure that you run the Analyze Files task after the Pre-translate Files task for your custom task sequences.

  • After selecting a task, other tasks in the Available tasks column may become unavailable. This may be because they are already selected or the task does not support the current input file types.

  1. Click OK when the sequence is complete. The new task sequence now appears in the Task Sequences dialog box.

  2. Click Close to close the Task Sequences dialog box. The new task sequence now appears for selection in menus and in wizards.

  3. If you want to run the new task sequence, click here to find out how.
